Alice Mae Blackburn was born on April 16, 1937, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to Alice Mary Dennis and Ernest Charles William Senior. She attended St. James Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Alice worked for Tyson for over 20 years and at the Potter’s House Thrift Store for almost a decade. She worked hard and worked until she was no longer physically able.

She loved her family dearly and spent her life making sure her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were well taken care of. She also enjoyed celebrations and rarely missed any special occasion. She ensured she attended graduations, birthday parties, weddings, and Potter’s House events. She also enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family, and watching soap operas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Mary Dennis, and father, Earnest Williams (stepmother Freddie Bell); four brothers, Earnest “Charles” Williams, Sonny Boy Williams, Michael “Wayne” Williams, Steven “SW” Williams; two sisters Hazel Dean Flood and Allene Walls, daughters Belinda Blackburn, Janese Jordan; and son Donald Ray Blackburn.

She leaves to cherish a son, Ronald Blackburn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a daughter, Finis McClain of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three beloved sisters: Althalene Hill, Georgia Parker-McNabb of Springfield, Arkansas and Lorene Walls of Morrilton, Arkansas; a host of her cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Beard’s Chapel with Shawn Schwartzman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Cemetery, and the repass will be held at 612 S College Ave Fayetteville, AR 72701.

There is no scheduled visitation.
