“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” – Proverbs 31:28
Barbara Stout, a devoted woman of faith, passed away on June 26, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. She lived her life with a deep and abiding love for the Lord, always placing God first in all things. When her grandchildren were young, she loved reading them Bible stories, planting seeds of faith in their hearts. She constantly reminded her family to lean on the Lord in all circumstances.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Terry, and a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them. She never missed a ball game, school program, or family event—from Kool Kid celebrations to cheering on her granddaughter as Homecoming Queen. Her presence was a constant source of love, support, and pride. She never let a loved one walk away without hearing her say, “I love you.”
She also cherished her friends deeply, always offering encouragement, laughter, and a listening ear. Barbara was the matriarch of her family—a pillar of wisdom and strength. She guided those around her through life’s challenges, offering clear-sighted counsel with warmth and compassion. Her empathy knew no bounds, and she always seemed to know just what people needed.
Though life handed her many challenges, Barbara never let them make her bitter. She remained kind, hopeful, and full of grace. She was fiercely protective of her family, deeply loyal, and endlessly selfless. When she asked how you were, she truly wanted to know—and she always found a way to make you feel better. She was witty and funny, with signature phrases and facial expressions that brought smiles to everyone around her.
Barbara found joy in camping, where she could soak in God’s creation and make beautiful memories with those she loved. Whether around a campfire or in a quiet moment, her presence brought warmth and peace.
Barbara Stout leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith, love, and service. Though she will be deeply missed, the impact of her life will continue to bless those who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 30, 2025 at Crystal Hills Family Fellowship in Elkins, AR with Jasper Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at McCord Cemetery in Elkins.

Barbara was my cousin. We made so many memories during our summers together with the rest of our family. In order of birth: Doskie, me (Teckla), Barbara, Tszmira, Avery, and Phyllis. We were a loving bunch of kids.
I thought of her every day even thought we didn’t keep in touch. She was the best out of all of us.
