Betty R. Phillips, 86, of Springdale died Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born April 16, 1929 in Greenland to William Claude and Pauline Webb Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Pauline Ross; her husband, James R. Phillips; a brother, Buddy Ross; and a son, Stephen Ashley Phillips.
Betty was a custom seamstress who specialized in wedding formal wear. She was a constant donor to Baptist Ford Cemetery. Betty was loved by all neighbors and friends who lived near her.
She is survived by two sons, Michael R. Phillips and James R. Phillips, II; a daughter, Sheila A. Phillips; a granddaughter, Katie Leonard; a brother, Jerry Ross and wife, Bettye; a sister-in-law, Alice Ross; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Baptist Ford Cemetery with Ervin Hutchins officiating under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
There is no scheduled visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Baptist Ford Cemetery.
