Brock Earl Gossett of Fayetteville, Arkansas took thirty-nine trips around the sun before his untimely death on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 2, 1982 in Piggott, Arkansas to Joan and Darrell Gossett.
Brock married the love of his life, Andrew Baker, in Old Joe, Arkansas surrounded by loving friends and Andrew’s family on August 7, 2021. It was indeed the happiest day of Brock’s life.
Brock was a steadfast contributor to his community and maintained full-time employment since his graduation from the University of Arkansas. Brock worked in order to maintain a lifestyle that included good food, great style, meaningful music and constant gardening. He loved nothing more than cooking for friends, listening to NPR and laughing until he cried.
Brock believed in the inherent goodness of animals and how their companionship could brighten and bring meaning to life. His love for his animals and for others in need was a clear example of his heart and character. He shared this compassion and inclusivity without reserve for all living things.
Brock is survived by: his husband, Andrew Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his parents, Joan and Darrell Gossett; siblings, Lorre Gossett Gookin (Gary) of Jonesboro, AR and Justin Gossett (Regina) of Pollard, AR; nieces and nephews, Erica Gookin Collins (Chris), Emma Gookin Mason (Taylor), Riley Jo Gossett, Alex Gookin, and Brent Gossett; great-nephews, Kinsler, Kolby & Keaton Collins, and Liam & Cameron Mason; cherished companion animals Darby, Cullen, Tucker, and Keiko; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brock was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loyd Earl Gossett, Bob & Wanda Brent, and Odell & Jessalie Toombs as well as his beloved Doberman, Arthur.
Brock’s wishes for memorial donations are to Fayetteville Animal Shelter where he adopted Darby.

Brock was such a loving person and will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I was so honored to have served and worked with him on the ALWC board. ❤
I read about Brock’s love for the dogs he cared for. He sounded like a wonderful person and I wish I had had the chance to meet him. Bless you Brock for the love you gave all those pups, as i am sure they loved you as much as you did them. We need more people like you in this world.
