Cecil Carl Coleman, 78 of Elkins died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born January 1, 1934 in Fields, Louisiana to Cecil and Ila Coleman. Carl was a respected Navy veteran and was a proud and honorable survivor of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrtle Coleman and son, Velton Coleman.

Survivors include his son, Greg and Cheryl Coleman ;daughters, Penny and Marty  McReynolds , Mary and Aubrey Bonnette , Vera Johnson  and Terry Benoit; brothers, AM  and Frances Coleman, Billy and Gloria  Coleman, Jack  and Shirline Coleman, Phillip  and Diane Coleman; Sisters, Guynell and Larry Franks and Sister Sara and Frank Cappello; grandchildren, Eric Coleman, Sonya Blake, Melissa Ashworth, Travis Lane Martin – Nez, Lisa Marie Martin – Nez Baird, Preston Lance Tilley and Heath Allen Johnson and many great and wonderful nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, friends and his loving Canine Companions “Harley” “Lucky” and “R.J”.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM at Beard’s Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be held Monday at 12:00 PM at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
