Feb 24, 2023

Cedric A. Bryant Jr., age 88 of Fayetteville, AR stepped into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, AR.  Cedric was born August 28, 1934 in Dublin, IN, the eldest son born of Cedric A. Bryant Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Huffman Bryant.

He graduated from New Castle High School in 1953.  After graduating high school Cedric started working at Indiana Bell Telephone Company.  He volunteered to serve in the Army from 1957-1959, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  After exiting the Army, he continued working at Indiana Bell / ATT until his retirement.  Cedric lived most of his life in the Auburn/Waterloo/Fort Wayne Indiana area.  In 2014 he moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He loved spending time with his family and was known to get a mean game of Shanghai Rummy or 5 Crowns going.  He loved going out in the card game to show he still had it in him to win.  Cedric had his private pilot’s license and loved to fish for anything that would take the bait.

What family will remember the most is his love for God and God’s people.  Cedric attended New Life Church in Fayetteville, AR.  He never met a stranger and loved to see the little children playing at church and often commented to the parents to cherish every moment.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Wynn; and four wives, Jeanette Cox, Mary Bryant, Patty Jo Bryant, and Virginia Bryant

Left to celebrate his home-going are his children, Mike Cox (Beth), Indianapolis, IN, Penny Turner (Mike) Citronelle, AL, Gail Reed (Carl) Chunchula AL, Barbara Evans (Larry) Fort Wayne, IN, Joanie Stell (Jimmy) Farmington, AR, Lisa Olinger (Jon) Fort Wayne, IN, and John Clegg Fort Wayne, IN; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Bryant; and one sister, Sharon McClurg, both of New Castle, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.  A memorial service will be held at a later date for family.

The family would like to give special thanks to Encompass Health and Rehab and to Willard Walker Hospice Home for their tender care and respect for our dad.
