Cheryl Kay (Stout) Downing, 75, of Elkins, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was born April 3, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Virgil and Glennis (Williford) Stout.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cheryl loved to travel and go camping. Her favorite places to go were Colorado and the National Championship Chuckwagon Races in Clinton, AR. When her children were in school, she never missed a game or any activity, always there cheering them on in everything they did. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. Cheryl married the love of her life, Larry, on August 15, 1975. She loved deeply and unconditionally. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Cheryl leaves behind her beloved husband Larry of Elkins; two sons, Shane (Tiffany) Stills of Elkins and Shawn (Nikki) Stills of Elkins; two daughters, Misty Parker of Elkins and Angelia (Craig) Bell of Elkins; her grandchildren, Blake Stills, Eric Stills, Lauren Easley, Derek Stills, Clint VanPoucke, Cole Stills, Ty Parker, Asa Parker, Cash Parker, Garret Smith, and Kaylie Smith; 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother Terry Stout of Elkins.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Edward McGinnis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service-time at the funeral home on Saturday.
