Evelyn Bernice Copeland, 96, of Fayetteville, died March 8, 2020.  She was born November 11, 1923 in DeSoto, Missouri to Frank and Emily Young Ruff, and married Vernon O. Copeland on February 27, 1946.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family.  She will always be remembered for her wit, humor and compassion for others.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, of 38 years; three sisters, Alta Irene Ruff, Virdie Trunk and Winifred Theel; one brother, Carl Ruff; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Pardue.

She is survived by daughter, Shirley Pardue and husband, John of Fayetteville; three sons, Vernon Copeland, Jr. of Nikiski, AK, Robert and Kenneth Copeland of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Toni Miller and husband, Loren of Chandler, AZ, Michael Copeland of Phoenix, AZ and Deana Gabbert and husband, Howard of Rogers, AR; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:30 PM.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.

    I Loved Mrs. Evelyn. I will be praying for her family during this time of loss and grief. When I visited Shirley and John I always looked forward to seeing her. She made me smile with her sense of humor and stories about growing up on the farm. I will miss her but I am so thankful I met her.
