Frances B. (Collins) Tunstill, 94, of Fayetteville, AR passed away, surrounded by her family, at Willard Walker Hospice Home on Monday, April 3, 2023. She was born October 11, 1928. She is the daughter of her loving parents, Gordon and Grace (Kinsey) Collins, who preceded her in death.
Frances was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister-in-law, Glendon Collins, Garland Collins, George and Minnie Collins, Audie Collins, and Howard Collins; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Mae Baker.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Sheri Tunstill, of Fayetteville; one daughter, Sondra Baker, of Siloam Springs; three grandchildren, Katlyn and Trent Kitchell, of Wilburton, Okla.; Mitchell and Kara Baker, of Gentry; Luke Baker, of Siloam Springs; one great-grandson, Langston Robert Baker; two sisters-in-law, Viva Collins, of Springdale and Marilyn Collins, of Bozeman, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the oldest sibling of her family, with five ornery younger brothers, whom she loved very much. Her family was her favorite thing. A loving mother and grandmother, she was proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved family get-togethers and her many nieces and nephews. Frances worked at Campbell Soup and Tyson’s for a total of 32 years. After retirement, she continued working as a cashier at Rick’s Iron Skillet and Rolling Pin Cafe for many years, something she loved and enjoyed. She was a very independent, hard-working woman her whole life–working part-time until 85 years old. Even during her time in assisted living, she was always willing to help.
Gardening and being outdoors were things she loved and enjoyed her whole life. She spent summers growing full gardens that she picked with her grandchildren and shared with friends. Food preservation was one of her many talents, entering the products of her labor at the Washington County Fair and winning Grand Champion in many categories over the years. Frances loved to sew many things, including quilts, potholders and doilies, curtains, and patching many pairs of jeans her son brought to her over the years. Frances loved to stay busy, never able to sit still for too long.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Countryside Assisted Living for the love and care they showed Frances during her stay. Also, a thank you to Willard Walker Hospice Home for the care and compassion they showed toward Frances and the entire family during her time there.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 7, 2023 at Beard’s Chapel with Pastor Paul Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Frances during her stay at Countryside. I just want to say she impacted my life in a way I never thought was possible. She will be dearly missed. I am very sorry for your loss. She was an angel.
Very sorry for your loss. I had the extreme pleasure of taking care of her at Countryside. I absolutely adored her. She will be missed by many.
I know that Edna and her are together. Reunited in heaven!
Frances was a dear lady and neighbor to my family for many years. She was always smiling and kind. Nothing but fond memories of her.
I worked with Frances for years at Mexican Original. She was so much fun to work with. Then years later I met her at her brother Glendon funeral. My boyfriend Farrell was his son and her nephew. Small world.
