Gary Lee Spurlock, 76, left for his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Gary was born on December 16, 1948 at the city hospital in Fayetteville, AR to George Lee and Evelyn (Ball) Spurlock.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Evelyn Spurlock, and his father-in-law Austin Schader.

Gary was a Christian man who loved God, family and friends. He enjoyed telling stories from his childhood and teenage years. Gary married Judy Schader, his high school sweetheart, on June 3, 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After the Army, Gary worked in the grocery business from stock boy to owner/operator while having three boys with his wife Judy. After the end of that era of his life he went on to become a maintenance worker for what was then Baldwin Piano (currently Keytronics). There, he worked his way up to head of maintenance before retiring in April 2020.

He is survived and loved by Judy, his wife of 58 years of the home; three sons, Michael Spurlock and wife Brenda of Farmington, Shawn Spurlock of Springdale, and Justin Spurlock and wife Kimberly of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lindzee Williams and husband Dylan, Adrienne Authement and husband Aaron, Parker King, Eden Spurlock, Thompson Spurlock, and Jax Spurlock; great-grandchildren, Tinzlee, Weston, and Walker Williams; siblings, Roger Spurlock and wife Diane, Donald Spurlock and wife Jackie, and Debbie Jones and husband Clayton; mother-in-law Robbie Schader; brother-in-law Bobby Schader; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; and his fur baby Honey Bun.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, August 18, 2025 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at South Hill Church of Christ in Fayetteville with Scott Gage officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors.

    I’m sad to hear of Gary’s passing. I’ve known y’all for 50 years and always thought of you as family even when I wasn’t married into your family. He was such a kind, Wonderful man.
