George Sewak, 89 of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1924 in Republic, Pennsylvania to John and Julia Sewak. He served our country during World War 2 in the U.S Army and was a Prisoner of War.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sophia Sewak, two sisters, Mary Luketic and Julia Wagner and brother, John Sewak. Survivors include his two daughters, Nadine Sewak of Farmington and Dolores Sewak of Milford, New Jersey; son, Mark Sewak and wife Bernadette of Concord, North Carolina; two grandchildren; one great grandchild and several other family members and friends. A funeral service will be held 9:30 AM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Paul Woodhouse officiating. Burial will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, 1640 S. Armstrong, Fayetteville, AR 72701 or the Washington County Animal Shelter 801 West Clydesdale Drive Fayetteville, AR 72701
