Jan 20, 2022

Harold Gene Williams, 81, of Crosses, AR, entered into his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville.  He was born February 25, 1940 in Japton, AR, the son of Carl and Ivy (Haskins) Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers (SR Williams, Curtis Williams and Ray Williams); two sisters (Alta Jo Mounce and Margie Combs); his wife of 58 years, Retha Jean (Baker) Williams; and his daughter Carla Jean (Williams) Simmons.

Harold is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Janet (Williams) Ploudre and Gina (David) Williams of Crosses; 6 grandchildren (Brooke, Sara, Paisley, Reese, Ivy and Wryn); 3 great-grandchildren (McCoy, Elliott and Carla Jean); many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Harold was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.  He dearly loved his family and spent countless hours with them, always putting family first.  He was a retired carpenter, stone mason and cattle farmer.  Harold was known for his beautiful rock work and his ability to grow a successful garden from which he freely shared.  He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many happy days fishing, hunting and camping with his loved ones.  Harold was a fun-loving friend to so many and will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 24, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel with Phil Curlee officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ledbetter Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.  All family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Harold was one of the kindest men I’ve ever met. He was always smiling and enjoying his family. The world is a more dreary place with Harold not with us to spread his goodness.

Even though there is joy in the homegoing, there is sorrow in your loss. Thinking of you at this tender time. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
