Hilda Jean Gardner Spillars, age 80, of Fayetteville passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on May 3, 2015 at her home.  She was born January 28, 1935 in the Plainview Community in Madison County, Arkansas to Walter Elmer and Maudie Eliza Downing Gardner.

Hilda was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

She enjoyed crochet and traveling around the country with family.  She was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leonard Ray (Jim) Spillars of the home; son, and daughter-in-law Jim and Lynnette Spillars; and grandchildren, Sara Spillars, Jamie Spillars, Jacquelyn Spillars and Jacob Spillars, all of Fayetteville.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 5-7 P.M. at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Beard’s Chapel with Steve Sullivan officiating.

Interment will follow in Buckner Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
