James Wilburn Hipps, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at his home. He was born June 21, 1934 in Huffman, AR to Wilburn Smith and Gracie Maxwell Hipps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ernestine; a son Jimmy Hipps; three brothers, Curtis “Dumpy” Hipps, Charles Hipps, and John “Bob” Hipps; and four sisters, Norma Hipps, Sandra Hipps, Elwanda Hipps, and Melba Ashby.
Jim worked many years as a pump mechanic and also as a feed truck driver for Tyson Foods. He owned his own trucking company called Jim and E Trucking Company. Jim had a passion for airplanes, flying, and working on cars. His sister Bonita said he was a good big brother.
He is survived by a son Brian Hipps and wife Tonya of Perry, GA; two daughters, Cindy Umbdenstock of Casa Grande, AZ and Diana Hussak and husband Tom of Picacho, AZ; a sister Lavada Edens and husband Joseph of Prairie Grove; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, AR with Austin Maxwell officiating.
There is no scheduled visitation.
