James Ray Bowen, 71, of Elkins, died Friday, June 19, 2015 in Springdale. He was born July 31, 1943 in Sentinel, OK. to Raymond and Mable Hammonds Bowen.
He was a millwright by trade; loved hunting, gardening and riding his Harley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survived by four sons, Denny Bowen of Wesley; Floyd Bowen of Springdale; Destry Bowen of Knightsville, S.C.; and Brett Robinson of Witter; four daughters, DeLena Bowen Miller of Springdale; Jamie Bowen of Wesley; Holly Bowen of Springdale; and Rachel Bowen of Kingwood, TX.; two brothers, Harold Bowen of Springdale; and Danny Bowen of Prairie Grove; one sister, Judy Bailey of Springdale; sixteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Kingston Community Church.
Interment will follow in Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Beard’s Chapel.
