Mary Lou Walters, 85 of Fayetteville passed away, April 11, 2014 at Willard Walker Hospice Home.
She was born February 19, 1929 in the Asher Community in Madison County Arkansas to Cartie Stapleton and Dora Hoskins.
She has worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the Fayetteville area. Later she became a CNA and then retired as a caregiver.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Orce Stapleton.
Survivors include her two sons; Danny Walters of Fayetteville and David Walters of Simi Valley, California; three grandchildren, Whitney Walters and Daniel Walters both of Fayetteville and Matthew Walters of Champaign , Illinois and several other family members and friends.The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the funeral home.
A funeral service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Brian Bailey officiating.

Danny and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember what a good person she was as were you when you were our student here at Huntsville High School. I don’t remember if I ever told you that I grew up knowing your grandfather, Cartie Stapleton, who was a good friend of my father’s.

I read the obituary news today February 9 2017.Your mother was a great help to me as I was foreign student at the University of Arkansas. I took care of you when your mum and dad goes out Saturday nights. She was a wonderful mother to you. She would send newspaper cuttings of your sporting events in your high school days. I could not reply to her because we were under dictators. Now I am in San Francisco visiting my daughters. I will be going back to Burma in July.
