Patsy Jean (Cook) Hamm, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born June 8, 1940, the youngest daughter of William Howard and Posie Lee (Standridge) Cook at Bass, AR.
Patsy was a graduate of Mt. Judea High School where she played basketball throughout her school years and attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
In 1970, she moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Fayetteville with her husband Wayne and three boys, renting and then buying a farm where Patsy lived and raised her family. She worked at Campbell Soup Company, J.C. Penney and Woodland Public School for many years. In the early 80’s she retired and was a homemaker for the remainder of her life. Patsy was a lifelong avid college/Razorback Basketball fan. She enjoyed being home on our farm and having her grandchildren come and stay.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Howard and Posie Lee Cook; a brother Farris Cook; sister-in-law Paulette Cook; a sister Fern Bell; and a daughter-in-law Sarah Lee Hamm.
Patsy is survived by her husband Robert Wayne of the home; three sons, Terry Hamm of the home, Jerry and wife Jerry Jo Hamm of Hindsville and Bill Hamm of Elkins; a sister Lois Turner of Springfield, MO; 5 grandchildren, Cody Wayne, William Chance, Mason Chase Hamm of Hindsville, James Douglas (Jimmy) of Elkins and Austin Robert Hamm of Tontitown; 4 great-grandchildren, Jolene Claire, Bradley Allen, Payton Elaine and Ethan Goldman Hamm.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Beard’s Chapel.
Due to Covid, graveside services only will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 3, 2021 at Mt. Judea Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hamm, Chance Hamm, Mason Hamm, Jimmy Hamm, Austin Hamm and Kevin Cook.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Hamm, Richard Hamm, Jack Thomas, Mack Cook, Joe Cook, Justin Cook, Matthew Cook, David Hamm, Brent Hamm, Scott Hamm, Mike Hamm, Steve Thomas, Jeff Turner and Rod Turner.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Judea Cemetery Fund in c/o Lina Jean Gregory, 2076 NC 6310, Mt. Judea, AR 72655. Make checks payable to the Mt. Judea Cemetery Fund.

Wayne, I don’t know any words that would relieve the great heartache associated with the loss of Patsy. Just know that you and your family will be remembered and prayed for in the days ahead.
