Richard M. Mayes Jr, 64 of West Fork passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Circle of Life  Hospice in Springdale. He was born February 20, 1949 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Richard and Evelyn Delores Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 5 years, Joyce Mayes; daughter, Meredith Brunen and husband Kyle of Centerton; son, Andrew Mayes of Fayetteville; sister, Rebecca Silvis and husband Lonnie of Fayetteville; brother, Chuck Mayes and wife Tracie of Fayetteville; step children, Kira Hungate and husband Clay of West Fork and Micah Chambers and wife Jenna of Alma; step grandchildren, Katie, Colton, Jessman and Cash and expecting his first grandson Jude Harrison Brunen in November and several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Monday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Lowell E. Grisham and Rev. Suzanne Stoner officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
