Shirley Ann Rhyne, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Fayetteville. She was born May 10, 1940 in Comanche, OK to Charlie and Emily Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wesley Rhyne; an infant daughter, Angela; three brothers; and one sister.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, knitting, and arts and crafts. She baked and decorated cakes. Shirley was a retired preschool teacher. She loved her job and the kids. She was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Rhyne of Fayetteville and Kendra Kelley of Dixon, MO; a stepson, Rodger Rhyne of TX; 6 grandchildren, Angela Hatfield, Andrew Rhyne, Anthony Rhyne, Sara Kelley, Natalie Kelley, and Mary Harryman; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Monday, April 4, 2022 at Beard’s Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories of her. She was a great aunt.

Just moving in she would be sitting outside. I’d come letting the cat out. And I set down with her talking about all kinds of stuff. She was one of the kindest and loving people I’ve had the joy of meeting in my life. I thank u God for letting me meet her. I feel blessed
