Wilma Helen Ray, 85, of Fayetteville received her heavenly reward Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born January 30, 1938 to Raymond and Mildred Lawson Ray.
After serving 27 years for the Arkansas Forestry Commission, Helen retired to live a long and happy life enjoying her family and friends. She was a devout Christian and attended Buckner Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are Karen and Tommy Atha, Sharon and Harold Pyle, Mandy and Troy Reed, Whitley Drummond, LaCole and Preston O’Neal, Matthew and Charity Pyle, Ty and Raina Frederick, Waylon and Lane Drummond, Harper Frederick and Maelie O’Neal, all of Elkins, AR and Debbie Parks and family of Vicksburg, MS. She also leaves behind many more family and friends including her dear friends Margaret Ann Tony, Barbara Wilson and Helene Fitzgerald.
Thank you to Dr. Bradley and nurses at Willard Walker Hospice Home for the care and compassion they showed not only to Helen, but to Karen, Sharon and Mandy during her time there. A very special thank you to her nurses Debbie, Braileigh, Cynthia, and Jeannie and CNA’s Eva and Shaunna, your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rex Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery immediately following the service.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Beard’s Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E Longview St, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
