Gerald Paul Wood, December 15, 1962~July 4, 2024

Jul 6, 2024

Gerald Paul Wood was born on December 15th, 1962 to Donald Ray Wood and Meldean Doris (Goodwin) Wood in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was a strong, wise, and faithful man who valued his family above everything. He was brilliant, a self-taught computer programmer and developer. He enjoyed woodworking, reading the Bible, war history, relaxing in his recliner, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gerald married the love of his life, Christi Dawn (Parks) Wood in 1997 and blended their families. Their union brought forth three more children. His love for his wife was strong, and now they are together in Heaven. He was an amazing father, a rock you could always depend on and a constant support for his children.
Gerald was very devoted to God. He took comfort knowing that God was there to guide him. He always credited God for helping him overcome difficult times in his life, and his story served as an inspiration to many, not only for his children, but for anyone seeking his guidance. He was a member of Unity Covenant Church in West Fork, Arkansas.
Another important part of Gerald’s life was his work. He worked as a Sr. Freight Developer at Apex Analytix, and loved his years working there. His colleagues would frequently remark that he was an absolute genius and that they had never met anyone who even came close to his knowledge and skill.
Gerald is survived by his seven children, Amanda Nichole Wood, Michael Paul Wood, Brittney Dawn Love, Austin Paul Wood, Sarah Nicole Dawn Wood, Christopher Paul Wood, and Matthew Leroy Fenton; nine grandchildren, Bret, Chelsea, Gemma, Taryn, Cadence, Hannah, Brayden, Jeremiah, and Rowan; and sister Melinda Dunlap. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christi Wood, his father, Donald Wood, his mother, Meldean Wood, and his brother, John Wood.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 9th at 9am at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.  Followed by a 3pm graveside service at A. L. Stephens cemetery in Clayton, Oklahoma.  A visitation will be Monday July 8, at Beard’s Funeral Chapel from 5-7pm.
