Alfred Kelly “AK” Shepherd, 82, of Bidville, AR was born September 9, 1942 to Velt and Oma Shepherd and passed away on November 24, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Remmer Shepherd; and a sister Velta Brady.
AK served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War. He also worked for the U.S. Forestry Service, was a farmer, and a heavy equipment operator for Marshall Construction.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Shepherd; sons, Kevin (Sheryl) Shepherd of Ozark and Alan Shepherd (Nicole Brezeal) of Bidville; grandchildren, Kortney (Bobby) White Cotton of Paris, Jessica Holt of Booneville, Garrett Shepherd of Ozark, Azalea Shepherd of Bidville, and Kristen (Josh) Atchley of Waldron; eight great-grandchildren; one brother Randall Shepherd; and four sisters, Lora Mullen, Brownie Mullen, Gayle Parker, and Linda Basham; and several nieces and nephews.
AK was of the Christian Faith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Beard’s Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
