Anne Elizabeth Reichardt passed away on December 7, 2023.

Anne resided by Lake Sequoyah in Fayetteville, Arkansas on her four-acre home which she developed with much love.

She was born on January 5, 1946, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to John Christopher Reichardt and Mary Elizabeth McMillan-Reichardt.

She was married to Bill Riggio, New York, NY from 1968 – 1972.

As a young adult, she studied design at Pratt and Parsons in New York City while working there as an interior designer.

She became deeply interested in psychoanalytic theory and began a medical career, receiving her Bachelor of Science at The City College of New York, Doctor of Medicine at Chicago Medical School, and Psychiatric Speciality at Stanford University.  In 1990, after seven years in the private practice of psychiatry and psychotherapy in Palo Alto, CA, she moved to Monterey County to work in psychiatric clinic settings and to resume artistic pursuits.  She studied with William Giles, Richard Green, and Eric Bosler.  She was active with the Monterey Bay Zen Center.

Anne retired in 2005 when she moved to her new home in Fayetteville. Her extensive artwork of 700 pieces is preserved with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, AR.

She is survived by her two younger sisters, Lynne Reichardt and Mary Lee Reichardt who live in Kerrville, Texas. Her nephew is Chris Wille who lives and works in San Angelo, Texas.

Anne’s good friends at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Fayetteville have been a blessing and so much support.

The family pets that predeceased her were Sookie & Scooter, precious and much-loved dogs, and Manet her beautiful cat.

She was an activist who worked to protect ecosystems and the human right to a safe, healthy environment that included equal rights for all.

Cremation arrangements by Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

I only Anne’s story through her younger sisters, my friends Lynne & Lee. Spent time with her only once here in Houston while she was marketing her artwork at galleries here. She was very gracious & I enjoyed that visit with her.
I’m happy her beloved & creative artworks will survive under the care of her loyal church friends & in those good memories of her little sister Lee.
