Arthur Bernard Gust, Jr, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Springdale. He was born August 12, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur Bernard Gust, Sr and Cornelia Gray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Cornelia Gust and sister, Dorothy Brady.
Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent three-plus decades managing thousands of employees in a fast-paced industry. Took what he learned there into a college classroom, where he guided thousands of others along the path to success. Arthur made nearly a half-dozen mission trips with his church, and, on the side, maintained a decades-long hobby of DJ’ing radio programs about jazz…many times as a volunteer.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stallings Gust of the home; a daughter, Melissa Branch and husband Matt of Bella Vista; a son, Chris Triplett and wife Cheryl of Memphis, TN; a sister, Virginia Settle of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Blake H., Emily, Jim, Landon, Blake and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Conner, Savannah and Hudson.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Beard’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Beard’s Chapel. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors.
We taught with Art at Lon Morris College and enjoyed knowing him and Barbara. They both made a difference in the lives of students. We noticed his number was no longer in service , so I found this information online.
