Ashley Michelle Sellers (née Burgin), 36, passed away on February 16, 2021 following a brief illness. Ashley passed peacefully surrounded by her family whose love is a bond that can’t be broken by death. She was born to Jim and Carole Burgin (née DeVore) on May 8, 1984 at Mather Air Force Base, California. She was married to the love of her life, Eric Sellers, on May 21, 2016.

Ashley lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed special experiences, extensive travel and many adventures. As the child of an Air Force officer, she moved throughout the United States living in Sacramento, California; San Antonio, Texas; North Pole, Alaska and Watertown, New York.  During her senior year at Immaculate Heart Central H.S. in Watertown, she was selected to visit Washington D.C. as a junior delegate to the United States Congress. She also had the opportunity to travel to Italy and Greece. Ashley was smart, fun, funny, loving, and compassionate.

Ashley earned her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science,  majoring in Accounting, from SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, New York. Upon graduation, she was accepted into a competitive graduate program at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, where she earned her Masters of Business Administration in Accounting. During her college career, she was selected to study for a semester at University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

Ashley began her professional career working for Epoch Senior Living in Boston, Massachusetts.   She returned to Fayetteville in 2008 and worked for Tyson Foods as a senior accountant and concluded her career  as Director of Internal Audit with Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas. She was also a member of the 2011-2012 Leadership Fayetteville class.

In her husband Eric, she found a kindred spirit; they shared a love of travel and animals. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Costa Rica, trips to Mexico and also traveled throughout Europe and the United States.

Ashley leaves behind her husband, Eric Sellers, her parents, her sister Kristin Fusco (Anthony), her nephew Sam Fusco and niece Abby Fusco, a special cousin Jennifer Reaves Barton, as well as a vast number of friends, Eric’s family and other family members.  Ashley and Eric were also in love with their twin cats Harry and Sally.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring.  Ashley was a life-long animal lover and would have appreciated donations be made to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/550/Donations in her name. Ashley’s family wishes to extend a sincere thanks the WRMC ICU team and Willard Walker Hospice House staff especially Janet DeVore RN, Ashley’s aunt.

My thoughts and prayers are with Eric, Jennifer, the rest of her family and close friends. Although my relationship with Ashley didn’t extend outside the walls of our workplace; I adored Ashley and can certainly see why everyone loved her. Ashley was extremely intelligent, very engaged in the things around her, compassionate, sweet and so very witty. It’s all these wonderful qualities about her that I’ll remember always! Ashley….Prince is in good hands till he makes it to his rightful door! 🙂 Love you.
