Bertha Faye Emrick, 87, of West Fork, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 in Springdale. She was born October 6, 1937 in Elm Springs, AR to Frank and Ola Smith Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Wood and Ola Wood Shelley; her husband Gail Emrick; two sons, Gene and Jerry Ball; three brothers, Gene, John, and Marion Wood; and one sister Hester Lee Sams Christ.

Bertha retired from the Campbell Soup Company. She was a member of Crystal Hills Family Fellowship Church in Elkins.

She is survived by daughter Lavonda Carol Howard and husband Danny of Abilene, KS; daughter-in-law Denae Ball of Claremore, OK; five sisters, Ethel Littrell and husband Paul of Prairie Grove, AR, Lou Sanders and husband Oran of Prairie Grove, AR, Marilyn Sluder and husband Jack of Fayetteville, AR, Loretta DeVore and husband Dale of Prairie Grove, AR, and Sharion Broom and husband Jim of West Fork; one brother Mark Wood and wife Marylyn of Berryville, AR;  grandchildren, Clint Howard and wife Haley of Albine, KS, Zach Howard of LaMesa, CA, Rachel Howard of Longmont, CO, and Sean Carpenter and wife Jenni of Inola, OK; great-grandchild Kemper Howard of Abilene, KS; and stepchildren, Donna Gowen and husband Jim of Sallisaw, OK and Dulce Royel of Fayetteville, AR.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Beard’s Chapel with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service-time at the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment will be in Indian Hill Cemetery in Chapman, KS.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Mrs. Bertha Faye’s passing. She was such a sweet lady! Prayers for her family.

      Thank you so much. Yes my mom was the sweetest lady you will ever meet. Your remembrance of her means a lot. She isn’t in pain anymore and is in heaven with my brothers Gene & Jerry & my stepdad. She may be gone on this earth, but will always and forever be in our hearts.
