Bettie Sue Weathers, March 2, 1928~September 25, 2018

Bettie Sue Weathers, 90, of Fayetteville went home to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.  She was born on March 2, 1928 in Russellville, AR, a daughter of James Ernest and Tina Lorene Motley Hood.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 57 years, Fred Allen Weathers; and a brother, J.E. Hood.

She worked as a telephone operator and a revenue office clerk.  Bettie enjoyed painting, traveling, dancing and loved to entertain.  She was a member of Wiggins United Methodist Church since 1966.

Bettie is survived by two sons, James Weathers and wife, Mary Kay and Ken Weathers and wife, Kaye; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Murillo and James Doyle Weathers and Kasey and Kory Weathers; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Jane Heathcoat of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, October 1, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel with Bruce Smithson officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

    So sorry to hear about Betty. She has been a wonderful neighbor for a very long time. I shall miss her. My mother (Ethel Goolsby) spoke on the phone nearly every day.
