Betty Lou Howard, 91, passed away Wednesday, April 15th, 2026 in Bentonville, AR. Betty was born July 8th, 1934 and lived the majority of her life in West Fork, AR. In her latter years she lived in Fort Smith, Rogers and Bentonville. Betty was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marcus Howard; her parents, Argyle and Dorothy Campbell-Hope; brothers, Athel and Leroy Hope; and her sister, Martha Jane Hope-Sawyer.

Survivors include her son, Bob Howard (Cynthia) of Kingston, TN; daughter, Marquita Carty (Scott) of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Chris Carty (Stacy) of Centerton, AR, Megan Carty-Thompson (Bobby) of Cave Springs, AR, Rodney Howard (Jennifer) of Bristow, VA, Kimberly Howard-Berger (Mike) of Farmington, AR, Amanda Howard of Kingston, TN, Caitlan Howard-Randolph (Michael), Sean Robinson of Rensselaer, IN, and Tera Moore (Brian) of Rensselaer, IN. Betty is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been provided by Beard’s Funeral Chapel, Fayetteville, AR. Family will visit with friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Monday, April 20, 2026 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at West Fork Cemetery, West Fork, AR, to be officiated by Elder Tony Lovell, South 20th Street Church of Christ in Rogers, AR.

The extended Howard family wishes to thank the staff at Green House Cottages in Bentonville, AR for their thoughtful and compassionate care for Betty and her family during Betty’s final days.

    Betty was a awesome lady!

    She and Marcus and my Mom and Dad had many adventures together. Be it going to Branson to shows, digging for diamonds, out to eat together (I think they all four loved The Catfish Hole) or at one of their homes to play Dominoes or Wahoo.
