Beverly Godfirnon, March 21, 1947~November 12, 2025

Nov 17, 2025

Beverly Godfirnon, 77, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Fayetteville. She was born March 21, 1947, in Bell, California, to William and Mary Edwards.

Beverly dedicated her life to her family and her faith, joyfully sharing her talents through music. She was a gifted musician, playing the piano and organ for numerous churches throughout her life, touching the hearts of many with her commitment and skill. Her deep love for music led her to Calvary Baptist Church in La Puente, California, where she enjoyed singing alto in the Ambassador Chorale from 1972 to 1982. After moving to Fayetteville in 2005, Beverly continued her service, playing the piano and assisting the choir at Black Oak Baptist Church for ten years, a ministry she cherished.

She was recently preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lou Godfirnon, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Shanelle Godfirnon of Chino, California; her son, Louis Godfirnon (wife Terilynn) of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Kevin Armstrong (wife Jennifer) and Victoria Watson (husband Josh); and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Logan.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly’s memory to Ridgeview Baptist Church, 1850 E Huntsville Rd, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

She touched the lives of many and made friends wherever she went; we will miss her joyful spirit.

A memorial service for Beverly and Lou is scheduled for 2:30 PM Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Ridgeview Baptist Church.

We have been great friends of Lou & Bev – since our 1st year of marriage – 58 years ago. We met at Grace Church in Huntington Park, CA – & discovered that we had married 1 week apart (across the country from each other). Even though we have lived many miles apart all these years – our friendship was a special one – a friendship of our hearts. We celebrated a number of July anniversaries together, as many as were possible because of miles.

We have followed their lives closely, as well as these last years of medical trials. I have had trouble reaching Bev since before Thanksgiving – & finally saw (yesterday) that the Lord had called her home … just 12 days after our last phone conversation. However, we never thought to get your phone # , Louie or Terry, during these declining days, & are finding it impossible to get your phone # now. Your loss has been great this year. We would so love to hear from you!!! Your Mom & Dad were treasures; we will surely miss them!

Beverly was a very dear friend and co-worker with me for several years. Our friendship never faded even when her and Lou moved to Arkansas. I moved to SW Missouri in 2016 and was able to visit with her in person. I will always remember her warm smile and comforting words of encouragement during difficult times. Lou and Beverly dedicated their lives to their Lord and savior. They will be remembered always in my heart.
