Beverly was one of the first people we met when we moved to Arkansas. We became fast friends and she always had a great story to tell with a sparkle in her eyes. Beverly’s warm smile was always present as were her big hugs and she gave them both freely. She was such a sweet soul, kind, generous and loving. The many lives she touched in her lifetime are better for having known Beverly. We will miss her dearly and will hold space for her in our hearts. We also hold our dear friend Betty close in our hearts thru this profound loss of her life partner. Rest in peace and light sweet Beverly.

Beverly was a wonderful caring person. Beverly loved her family and would do whatever it took to help care for them when they needed it.
we lovingly called Beverly and Betty our favorite Aunts and enjoyed our visits with them. Beverly always had to prepare us a delicious meal and we would reminisce about family or birds and flowers and Sammy and Chloe were always close by. Sometimes we would get to spend the night and in the morning Beverly would make Granny Maddox’s biscuits from scratch. We will miss Aunt Bev’s big hugs we always got when we would leave. Beverly will always be in our thoughts I know she will be watching over Aunt Betty. Rest in Peace.

Beverly and I met soon after I came to NW Arkansas. I remember when she taught school in Kingston, Arkansas in the ’70s and we saw her play basketball in the “teachers vs students” basketball game! Many more stories, too many to tell here. Just let me say that Beverly was an adventurer: a motorcycle-rider, guitar playing singer, cornbread baker, super-hero comic collector, English teacher, VW crazy driver good friend. I will miss you and remember you, as will all of our community.
Beverly will be so missed. She was such a positive kind person and just lovely to be around…always saying or doing something kind and thoughtful. I’ll miss her at our potlucks…my thoughts are with Betty who has taken such wonderful care of her…what wonderful dedication, commitment and love
So sad to hear of Beverly’s passing. She was a leader in the women’s community here in Fayetteville and in Little Rock way back in the day! We will all miss her humor and zest for life. She showed us how to get back up when life’s challenges take us down. She will always have a special place my heart. In deepest sympathy.
Beverly was a smart and caring person. She loved to cook and we traded many recipes and stories about teaching. She had a zest for life and kept striving for improvement, whether it was playing guitar or working out at the gym or perfecting a recipe. We will honor her every time we eat creamed corn cornbread and lemon pie. We will miss her so much.
Beverly was a force of nature, big brain, big spirit. I remember her always for her humor and her commitment to social justice. Her stories will live forever. Out there in the great beyond, she’s urging someone to get up and go to make the great beyond a better place.
Dear Bevie, we had many great shared memories from the 70’s and throughout the following years. Ann and I have shared many fabulous meals at yours and Betty’s table (with loads of laughter usually in response to your tall tales), whether in AR, VA, DC, or back here in AR in retirement. I can personally thank you for instilling the idea of having a motorcycle in my young son’s head (not) and for being such a big kid yourself that my two loved spending time with you as they were growing up. You were always up for mischief! Thanks for all the guitar playing and singing, fun, adventures, gardening tips, and your mama’s recipes. You and Betty have always been our besties. We will never forget you and will look after Betty going forward.
I will miss Beverly a lot! What a good woman she was! I was always so ENTERTAINED by her!
I only met Bev once, but I’ve known Betty since she was three and I was four. I know Betty would chose the best, and my heart goes out to her. We’ve kept in touch all these years. I love you, Betty, and pray for peace to be in your heart.
Beverly and Betty were mentors of a sort to me in the mid 80’s. They were encouraging and helped me along the way to my career in IT in Texas.
Beverly had wonderful stories, a great laugh, sparkling eyes, and a great love for her family and friends.
We got to know Betty and Beverly after little Sammy (the Coconut) showed up lost and hiding in our shed. We already had a small house full of furries and were not the perfect match for Sammy. Liz Lester helped us to find Betty and Beverly, and they gave Sammy a wonderful, loving, amazing and psychologically supportive home. That is how we discovered their kind and generous hearts. We are grateful that we found their friendship and treasure the time that we got to share with Beverly. We want to send our love to Betty during this time and are holding her in our hearts.
My condolences to the family. Worked with Ms. Maddox in LRSD for several years, where she taught Middle School. May God give the family comfort during this difficult time.
I am going to miss you forever! Thank you for showing love to me! Sharing recipes and making me treats! Sharing wisdom. Love you, I will check in on Betty.
Hello, I met Bev in 1991. I was just a young adult/kid at the time. My first trip to Florida, she and Betty had atleast one old dog (Hank). It was my first time meeting them. They loved me from the first moment! And I I loved both the B n B’s . A wonderful amount of memories, the Arkansas Grannies became with our children’s very important people! Rest well B
