Byron Alfred Thompson, age 72, of Springdale, died December 30, 2014. He was born in Clarksville in 1942 to the late Roger Leon & Anna Augusta Thompson. He excelled at sports and mathematics among many other things. He received two degrees from the U of O and U of A, going on to own a successful real estate business and publish a book on Statistics. His favorite activity was to take care of his dogs, and to open his doors to any animal in need.
He is survived by a daughter and son- in- law, Anna Beth Thompson & Stefan Draghicescu; & by a granddaughter, Olivia Beth Draghicescu; & by a cat, Merci Beaucoup III; and five of his six dogs, Porky, Sonny, Eeyore, Chiquita, and Neely. Grrskie, his favorite of the pack, preceded him in death the following day. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Beth Thompson; a brother, Ragon Thompson; and a sister, Luanne Thompson.
As he was cremated, a memorial will be announced at a later date, very likely in Clarksville.
He would want everyone to be help and be kind to one another, to laugh as much as possible, and to always give strays a place in your home. He would want me to let you know that he loved all of his family and friends very much. He bent over backwards to give us a beautiful life. He was the best Daddy in the whole world and is missed terribly. I love you so much Daddy.

I was not acquainted with your father, but you did such a fantastic job of describing him here, that I wanted to let you know how deeply sorry I am for you and I feel for you for your profound loss. Just loving his fur babies and you all, his family, with such dedication and passion speaks to his character as a wonderful man. I hope you can manage the ‘pack.’ They are grieving too. If I could help you with them, I would offer, but I have 5 of my own. I wish you all peace and the strength to get through this difficult time.
