Charles Eugene Brink, 90, of Elkins, AR passed away October 6, 2021. He was born in Drumright, OK on March 20, 1931 to Orville Cyrus “Dodge” and Goldie Shumate Brink.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Lois “Jackie” Ritchie.
He is survived by loving wife of 56 years, Betty; daughter, Katy Jean Lynch of Seattle, WA; son, Scot Brink and wife Vanessa of Durham; a sister, Wilma Louise Beeler of Springdale; a brother, Jimmy Brink and wife Barbara of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Andrew (Kaitlin), Paige, Taylor (Curtis), and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Tinslee and Cambrie; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Arkansas Western Gas/Southwestern Energy after 33 years. Charles was a charter member of Mount Olive Water Association, serving from its origination in 1971 up until he was no longer able.
He served on the board of Shumate Cemetery in Durham and McCord Cemetery in Elkins and the White River EPA. Charles was a member of the Elkins First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church Elkins.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service-time at the church on Tuesday.
Interment will follow in Shumate Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
