Charles Wesley (Wes) Holt of Gentry, AR passed away on November 13, 2020 at the age of 83.
Wes was born in Fayetteville, AR on October 29, 1937 to Richard Lee Holt, Sr. and Minneford Holt. He came from a very large and close-knit family. Wes was a loving and caring man. Family and those he considered family were always of great importance to him. The Holt family reunion was something he looked forward to each year.
Wes proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years from 1957 until retiring on August 31, 1978 as a Technical Sergeant from Tinker Airforce Base. He returned to Fayetteville and began a long career at AR Western Gas (AWG), working his way up to Manager of Vehicle and Facilities Maintenance. He oversaw all voice data, radio, and communication systems. He retired from AWG in January of 2000, after 21 years of service. Wes also enjoyed going to the University of Arkansas to usher all the different sporting events, eventually becoming a supervisor. He participated in the ushering program for over 30 years and had a great sense of pride for the University and the Razorbacks. He lived in Fayetteville until he and Barbara moved to Gentry in 2010. Wes enjoyed the small community and kept ties in Fayetteville as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and Barbara D. Holt, his loving wife of 59 years.
He is survived by four children: Marta Holt, Joelle Holt and husband Kelly Bradford, Wes Holt and wife Brooke, and Charles and wife Michele. He has four grandchildren and one great grandchild: Joseph Holt, Sierra and husband Brock Amedee, Jamie Holt, Jaxson Holt, and Scarlett Amedee. He is also survived by a large extended family and friends he considered family.
Due to COVID there will be no funeral service at this time. He will be buried at Fayetteville National Cemetery with his loving wife. In lieu of flowers or donations the family would like to encourage everyone to practice social distancing and wear masks. Know that having your loved ones in your hearts is just as important as being physically close to them right now.

I hope Wesley is singing with the angels in Heaven today to my dear mother. She loved to hear him sing. I know there is a Holt reunion there also. God bless your family.
So sorry for your loss. Your family is in my prayers. From Brooke’s stories, I know he was wonderful and loved man.
He has always been the glue that has held every gathering good or sad together. I would not have pulled through some of my saddest days if it weren’t for the love of family he constantly showed to each and everyone of us. I’m beside myself that at this place we are in history. I (WE) Can not do the same for him. He so deserved that honor.
And yes Pat..Im certain he is having one heck of a reunion..
Save some fruit salad for me my dear Unk. And I’ll have lots to catch you up on.. I’ll miss you oh so much..
See I told you you were going to break my heart and make me cry.
Much Hugs and Love to each of you my dearest family..
Deepest sorrow on behalf of the members of the Radio Operations Section, Tinker AFB. Wes was good man and a fine Airman. It was always a pleasure to be around him

My wife and I went to school with Wes. He was very friendly, and nice to be around. We lost contact when we got out of school.
After Wes retired from all his jobs ( Military and gas co. we would some time meet at a friends funeral.
Always the same Wes. We communicated on face book.
I just can’t Believe he is gone.
You family members are very lucky to have had a Dad like Wes.
To the family of Wes Holt. I just learned about your father‘s passing away. I remember him fondly as I was his physician for many years until I retired in 2015. It was always a pleasure to see him and your mother in the office and also to see him at basketball games. He always had a smile on his face and I enjoyed our conversations which covered a number of topics. All of my sympathy and feel free to contact me if you’d like.
