Clyde E. Ulm, 88, of Prairie Grove, AR, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Fayetteville. He was born October 22, 1934 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Leo and Esther Wright Ulm.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Gary L. Ulm; one brother; and one sister.

Clyde was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for the Highway Department and the Department of Water Resources for about 18 years in the State of California. While in California, he was a little league coach, a Scout Master and an umpire. Clyde moved his family to Arkansas in 1977 from California. He lived in Strickler, AR for 15 years where he was a founding member of the Strickler Fire Department. Clyde was also a lay minister for First Christian Church in West Fork, AR. In 1992 he moved to Forsyth, MO where he retired from the assessor’s office in Taney County. He was a member of Forsyth Christian Church. Clyde loved acting and participating in “little theatre”.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Rich Ulm of the home to whom he was married 64 years; a daughter Gayle Hignight and husband Steven of Prairie Grove; a son Todd Ulm and wife Betty of Fayetteville; a sister Leona Morrell of Illinois; a daughter-in-law Melody Ulm of Prairie Grove; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Monday, October 23, 2023 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Minister Vance Eubanks officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until service-time on Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E Longview St, Fayetteville, AR 72703.

    Clyde enjoyed singing solos in church. Every time we visited the Ulm’s I was privileged to accompany him on the piano.
    Prayed it was a sweet, sweet sound in HIS ear.
