Danny Ray Watson, born on July 2, 1948, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, surrounded by love, with his sons beside him. He was the beloved son of Ottis Watson and Helen Guinn Watson.
Danny was a devoted and selfless father to his three sons—Derek, Ryan, and Braden. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his brother Jerry, his son Derek, and his grandson Gabriel. Braden and Rebecca with their daughter Dani, and Ryan with his son Ben, filled Danny’s life with pride and joy. Both Ben and Dani brought light to Danny’s days and smiles to his heart.
Danny was a Christian man who lived his life with quiet strength and deep love for his family. His kindness, humility, and steady presence were felt by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother Jim Watson (Sherry), and their sons Jay and Kyle, and by Liz Watson, wife of his late brother Jerry, and their children Cindy and Doug, along with many other relatives who loved him dearly and will forever hold him in their hearts.
He loved the game of golf and enjoyed his time on the course, where he found peace and companionship.
Danny leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selflessness that will be forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Society for Suicide Prevention.
Danny, or Mano, as he was affectionally known amongst Braden’s friends, was truly one the Great Ones. I will forever cherish my memories of time spent at the Watson household and the ball fields. My deepest condolences to Braden and Ryan, and the entire Watson family. Mano will be missed. Especially on my trips to Sam’s Club, where I always seemed to run into him over the last few years.
Love to you all,
Cameron Hill
