Donald D. Edwards, 88, of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home.  He was born February 4, 1930 in Dickens, TX to Forrest and Inza Teague Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donald was an Army veteran.  He was a member of Robinson Ave. Church of Christ and a Church of Christ minister for 40 years.  Donald was a farmer, a traveling meat salesman and an owner of United Real Estate in Huntsville.  He loved to fish and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Edwards of the home; a daughter, Sandy Stout and husband, Scott of Springdale; a brother, Gene Edwards of Holiday Island; granddaughter, Shari Oliver and husband, Derek of Fayetteville; grandson, Sean Holloway of Fayetteville; great-grandson, Dominick Oliver of Fayetteville; and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, January 25, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel with Glen Vanderpool and Freddy Gibson officiating.

Interment will be private in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

      Laura, thank you for your kind words. I was so blessed to have a great and dad and mother who will be 89 on Valentine’s Day. Dad was 10 days older than her so he almost made it to 89.

      Sorry to hear about your dad. I didn’t know. I was blessed to have an awesome dad and mom. Mother will be 89 on Valentine’s Day. Dad is 10 days older and he almost made it to his BD. We will see our loved ones on the other side some day soon.

      Sorry I didn’t reach out when I saw your Christmas card. I was going to call and tell you dad doesn’t drive but to see mom. He was in such good health that I thought we had time to reach out and have you both come visit. It is a shock but we shall see him soon on the other side.

    My sincere condolences to the family Edwards for the lost of your beloved father Donald, that our God Jehovah keeps him in his memory in the day of the resurrection. John 6:39,40 and give him the everlasting life here on the earth in a renewed paradise in a near future. Psalms 37:11,29, While we wait for these blessing in a near future, that the peace of God be with the family.

      Sorry I do not recognize your name. But thank you for your encouraging scriptures from the Word of God. Dad will be missed while we wait for the ultimate blessing of heaven. Till then, it is one day at a time for us who miss our loved ones that have gone on ahead.

    Sandy, so sorry to hear that Brother Don had passed away. We loved him very much at Wesley. He served the church so well for his whole life and I know he will be rewarded with Heaven.

    Sorry that I forgot to mention daddy’s older brother Ira Williams and wife Vicki who passed recently. And his sister Irene Williams and her husband Leon who have passed. I loved my aunts and uncles and appreciate their children’s words of condolences and encouraging comments to comfort myself and mother and our family in the days ahead. God/Jesus/Holy Spirit will give us comfort as we miss dad. A great husband, brother, dad, friend, uncle, preacher, and Christian. See you soon daddy.
