Donna Ruth Johnson, 73, of Springdale, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 with her family surrounding her.

Ruth was born December 10, 1945 in Hindsville, Arkansas to Odie and Mary Evelyn Shepherd.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neil Johnson; two daughters, Jerri Wilson and husband, Roger Wilson and daughter, Mortie Dassero and husband, David Dassero; 5 grandchildren, Colby Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Brock Dassero, Blaine Dassero, Addison Dassero; three sisters, Bea Sloan, Yvonne Whittle and Janice Lane; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a truly kind-hearted soul, who was loved dearly and will be missed by family and all who knew her.  She loved to read a good mystery or romance novel, and ride on the back of Neil’s motorcycle and cruise with friends.  She was always ready to lend an ear to any one that needed to talk and tried to take care of everyone that came into her life.

Family and friends are invited to say goodbye with visitation on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Interment will follow in Wesley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

    My Heart is broken Ruth Johnson means so much to me and two weeks ago I told her ….Thank You for Helping me if I was a little short on my rent she would let me pay it out. I Loved coming in and talking for as long as I need she was the Greatest and HELPED ME with personal things . We had some of the same medical problems and we talked about that and things we needed to do better on. I LOVE YOU RUTH and I’M SO VERY GLAD I GOT TO TELL YOU. Rest in PEACE .
