Dora Mae Shepherd, 92 of Elkins passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Willard Walker Hospice Home. She was born May 22, 1920 in Madison County, Arkansas, Health Community to Albert and Ida Barker Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; five sisters; husbands, Winford Warford and Clive Shepherd; grandson, Monty Shepherd and step grandson, Rex Drummond. Survivors include two sons, Jim Thomas of Fayetteville and Rick Shepherd of Brentwood; daughter, Shirley Warford Shepherd of the Bidville Community; three step sons, Eugene Shepherd of Winslow, Truman Shepherd of Hindsville and Jimmy Don Shepherd of Wesley; two step daughters, Barbara Wilson of Fayetteville and Lenora Drummond of Mountainburg; sister, Flosie Provence of Winfrey Valley; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nineteen step grandchildren; thirty four step great grandchildren and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Biswell and Rev. Ray Shackleford officiating.  Burial will be at the Bidville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be made to Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 N.     Her wonderful smile is what I remember from the few times we met. Mildred and George would take Gary and I to family reunions during the 1970s. I hope to attend the funeral just to connect with everyone and hopefully find some connections to the other Thomas family members.
