Doris Faye Roberts, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015. God was surely in need of a beautiful Alto Singer of Gospel Hymns to join his Heavenly Choir. She was born July 15, 1921 in Fayetteville to Claude T. and Grace Carney Brooks. She was a member of the Elkins Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ford Roberts, who passed away November 4, 1987.
She is survived by one son, Eldon R. Roberts and one granddaughter, Denice M. Roberts, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Edna Couch and Margaret Murphy, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Charles Brooks of West Fork and a very special great- granddaughter, Brandi O’Kelley and her husband, Dr. Ryan O’Kelley of St. Louis, MO.; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel from 5-7 P.M.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Glen Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Kings Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Gospel Tracts International Program, 4377 E. Huntsville Rd., Fayetteville, AR 72701.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Ledford, Richard Murphy, Melvin Stanley, Ron Courtney, Renee’ O’Kelley and Gary Crews.
