Earl Dean Davis, June 23, 1936~October 25, 2019

Oct 28, 2019

Earl Dean Davis entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at age 83.  He was the son of William Burl and Stullene Marie Davis of Paris, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Melva Jean Davis (Brown); his daughter, Lisa Lynn Davis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Earl proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Boxer during the Korean War.  In his return to civilian life, Earl attended college at Henderson State, married Jean Brown in 1959, and pursued a variety of entrepreneurial careers ranging from office supply and battery salesman to restaurant owner and certified hearing aid specialist where he improved the quality of life for a great many in his community.

With a smile in his heart and a joke or a song always on his lips, Earl loved the natural beauty of Arkansas, spending time with friends and his family, or watching the Razorbacks. He was a deacon of the First Christian Church of Paris while his health allowed.  Through his devotion to kindness and fairness, Earl brightened the lives of all who met him.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors.

There is no scheduled visitation.
