Eddie (2Z) Bowman Tudor is free at last, of multiple physical challenges that so greatly complicated the last years of her life. Through it all she maintained a positive attitude and a dignity that came from incredible character. She was 67 years on this earth.
She preferred to be called 2Z, a nickname from her childhood. Born in 1952, the daughter of Mr. Edward Tudor and Liz McClanahan, she was a child of the Ozarks, growing up in Marshall and Mt View, Arkansas. Her younger siblings benefitted greatly from her loving care. Her family moved every couple of years, (New Mexico, New Jersey, & Connecticut), allowing her to develop significant survival and social skills. The small family settled in Little Rock, where, as a young woman, she met an Air Force pilot, Dave Bowman, on a blind date.
2Z and Dave were married in a ceremony at the Wayfarer’s Chapel, on a mountain-side just east of Yellowstone National Park. 2Z and her husband lived a 49 year love affair that went from Arkansas to Okinawa, to Arizona, to Illinois, and on to Gresham, Oregon, where Dave retired from the Air Force. Their last move together was to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1994.
She was a really happy dancer (she liked to lead), a devoted Mother to her two sons, John and Shawn, and a Grandmother. 2Z was an accomplished entrepreneur, starting gift business (A Real Basketcase) and growing the client list from zero to over 50 corporate clients. She enjoyed cooking with a passion, especially after becoming a Chef in a restaurant. She was a “super taster”, being able to discern multiple spices and textures making her cooking an art-form. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge with friends, canasta with another group of friends, and cribbage with the family around the dinner table. Her sense of humor was legendary, especially around April Fools Day.
She is survived by her husband, David Bowman of the home, and son Shawn Tudor Bowman of Fayetteville, Arkansas, her son John Bowman, and Grandsons John Bradley and Raiden Bowman of Bella Vista, Arkansas; her Mother, Liz McClanahan, of Russellville, Arkansas; her brother Charles Tudor, of Morrilton, Arkansas ; her sister, Elizabeth Foreman, of Bowling Green, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, stretching from New Jersey, to Illinois and at home in Arkansas.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. Their sincere, caring, professional support in the last part of her life’s journey is deeply appreciated.

2Z is an amazingly sweet, smart, lovable, kind cousin with a beautiful personality that makes you love being with her. While I’m sad for our loss and will miss her, I’m looking forward to seeing her again in heaven, full of health and happiness once again. May her memory be eternal. Dave, you have truly been a faithful caregiver through these many years and have allowed us to have many happy memories of our visits with you and 2Z which we will cherish forever. May God bless and comfort you and your family during these difficult days.
Dave and family,
I will remember the 2Z with a wicked sense of humor and a passion for bridge! She is unforgettable and will be missed greatly.
Dave,
You and yours have been in my thoughts and prayers this past week! 2Z was a special lady and I feel so very fortunate that our paths crossed! May the lord bless and keep you and bring you peace at this most difficult time!
Love
Liz Rainwater
Let the love affair live in warm memories of a lovely, fun-filled lady who adored her husband. Her good nature and great wit were remarkable especially given her unforgiving health issues. We will miss 2Z and wish her a safe and satisfying journey to her next life. Our condolences to all her family and to her friends.
Dave,
You have my heartfelt sympathy and condolences on the loss of your Sweet 2Z. It is with fond remembrance just how much she and Shirley enjoyed each other during their times together playing bridge, not to mention the great fun we all had together in each of our homes. It saddens me that I will not be able to attend the family visitation and the Celebration of her life because I will be in Texas with my brother for his birthday and Christmas with my children and Grand-children.
Kind Personal Regards,
James Denton
Dave: So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of playing bridge with 2z at your home several times. She was always so upbeat in spite of her health problems. She will be missed by all
Dave, Jeannie and I would like to extend our condolences at this time and will remember you and your family in prayer.
We remember the story about Dave’s coming home after an airplane accident with facial burns and no eyebrows. 2Z looked up from the kitchen table (knowing full-well what had happened) and asked, “So how did your day go?” She had fortitude, courage, a sense of humor. and the ability to adapt to circumstances. Celebrate her life!
I will never forget when she and Dave came by our house to welcome my mother & father in-law to Arkansas. Dave was dressed as Elvis and 2z was dressed like a hillbilly, Bubba teeth and all. My in-laws reactions were priceless. 2z touched so many lives. You will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dave and family: I hope the coming days and weeks will bring you all some peace and comfort. 2 Z was always fun to be around for me, and I’m sure she will be missed by many friends. Best wishes to you all in the future. Give Scooby Doo a hug for me.
