Edna “Ernestine” Boen, October 21, 1931~July 23, 2024

Jul 25, 2024

Edna “Ernestine” Boen, age 92, passed away into the arms of her beloved Savior on July 23, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1931 to Daniel and Edna (Shepherd) Drummond in Bidville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 76 years, Ervin Boen. Ervin passed away on June 28, 2024. She said it was like half of herself was gone and she couldn’t wait to be reunited with him. They had been together since she was 12 and he was 13 (and married when she was 17 and he was 18).

Ernestine was also preceded in death by one son Gary; grandson Terry; and step-granddaughter Michelle.

She is survived by her son Greg and wife Debbie; daughter-in-law Leigh; grandchildren, Lanie and wife Mandi, Nathan and wife Marlee, Corey and wife Stacey, Kaylee and husband Talor, Candy and husband Ryan, and Noah and wife Honey; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ernestine was a member of Nob Hill Pentecostal Church in Springdale, Arkansas. The Bible says in Mark 16:15- Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Ernestine took this seriously. She was a Pastor and a Missionary to Mexico and Cuba through her own non-profit “Works of Faith”. She saw many people saved all over the world and churches built in other countries because of her ministry.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss her so much!

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, August 2, 2024 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Beard’s Chapel. Burial will immediately follow services at Bidville Cemetery.

This lady meant so very much to our entire Collins family. She was my husband‘s mentor and she taught us all in Sunday school at full Gospel Harbor. We loved her dearly. She will certainly be missed, but I know someday I will see her again and she is definitely rejoicing.

Aunt Ernestine was extremely kind, and always a great Christian example. She knew her Bible well. When I was in a nearby room overnight, around 4 years ago, she would sincerely pray the Lord’s Prayer. I purposely did not listen after that. She taught me to look on the good side of people , and to give friends and family the benefit of the doubt.
Not many days before Jesus took her home, she had me read Psalm 91 and later Romans 8. Each time she politely asked me to read the King James Version of the Bible. (I used my phone). She showed concern two different times about her Bible being marked at Psalm 91, that same day.
