Elwanda Hipps, 73, of Springdale, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Fayetteville.  She was born March 16, 1948 in Blytheville, AR to W.S. and Gracie Maxwell Hipps.

She was preceded in death by her parents W.S. and Gracie Hipps; her siblings, Charles Hipps, Curtis Hipps, John Robert Hipps, and Melba Hipps Ashby.

Elwanda was a long-time employee of Fieldings Station & Grocery in Springdale.  She enjoyed traveling and seeing all the beautiful places and landscapes of America.  She especially loved the beach.  Upon retirement, she most enjoyed her role as grandmother to Grace.  Her faith in God was unwavering.  She was mild-mannered, slow to anger and quick to forgive.  She was loved by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Lynn Hipps of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Grace Hipps; one sister, Bonita Edens and husband Jody of Prairie Grove; one brother, James Hipps of Elkins; multiple nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Austin Maxwell officiating.  Interment will follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, AR.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service-time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
