Emma Lou Slaughter, 83, of Fayetteville went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2016. She was born October 6, 1932 in Fayetteville to Albert and Josephine Wilkes Gray.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roscoe Slaughter.
She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Emma Lou is survived by her 3 children, Emma Jean Pennington, Karen Barnes and husband, Olan and Charlene Shepherd and husband, Ray; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Beard’s Chapel with Dr. Tom Hover officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the funeral home.
