May 27, 2020

Esther R. Reiter, 73, of Fayetteville, AR passed away after a twelve year battle with lung cancer. She was born January 12, 1947 in Mineola, Long Island, New York.  Esther was raised in Dayton, Ohio and then Brooklyn, New York.  She lived in New Jersey and Florida, then settled in Fayetteville, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Edward and Anne Perlowin.

Esther is survived by her life partner, Kenneth Friend; son, Eric M. Reiter and his wife, Krista; grandkids, Kelsey, Nicholas and Elizabeth; brother, David Perlowin and his wife, Paula; and sister, Faye.

Esther worked in many businesses from car dealerships to state tag offices during her career. She always excelled at her work.  At age 51 she went back to college and received her degree in fine art with a minor in education from the University of Arkansas.  She next taught art in a lockdown setting, always getting along with the kids. She was a member of NA with 31 years of clean-time.  She was always available to help someone in need.

She is missed by her little doggies, Sophie, Gertrude and Quattro.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville with Janis Walter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Cancer Resources or the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.

We would like to thank everyone at Highlands Oncology and Dr. Dan Bradford for the awesome care that they provided over the past twelve years. We would also like to thank Hope Cancer Resources for their support all along, but especially in the last few months.

My deepest condolences to Esther’s family and friends. She was such a wonderful person, and I always enjoyed our talks when she came to the clinic. I especially enjoyed seeing photos of and hearing about the adventures of the her dogs, since I am an animal lover too. She will be deeply missed.

    Kenny,
I’m glad that you informed Chad about Esther’s passing so he could tell me. I love her and you. We go way back! I imagine that she had suffered long enough with that cancer. No one deserves that as far as I am concerned. I do plan to attend her service. I think you already know this but I thought the world of your Esther❣️
