Everett W. Coonfield, Sr, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was born in Higgins, Texas in 1945 to Florence and Aubra Coonfield. He was raised in the Panhandle of Oklahoma for most of his childhood. He graduated from Shattuck High School in 1963. He then attended and later graduated from Okmulgee Tech in 1965 with an Electricians degree. He would go through the ranks from apprentice all the way to Master Electrician. In February of 1966 he joined the United States Army where he honorably served his country. He later moved to Springdale, Arkansas where he married Eileen Starr of Fayetteville in 1974. He always worked to provide for his family. He was dedicated to following the rules and law of the land. He worked as a Master Electrician and then transitioned into a Building Inspector for the City of Springdale where he retired from. He held multiple licenses in the State of Arkansas for different building trades. He was a hard worker, a great provider, a good friend, and active in his local church.
He is preceded in death by his parents Aubra Coonfield and Florence Coonfield; his sister Lillian Fessler; and his two brothers Ernie Coonfield and Hugh Coonfield. He is also preceded in death by his first-born son Shannon Coonfield.
He is survived by his loving wife Eileen Coonfield; his daughter Kimberly Wood and her husband Kevin Wood; his sons Michael Coonfield and his wife Jennifer Coonfield, Everett W. Coonfield II and his wife Amy Coonfield, Zechariah Coonfield and his wife Brittany Coonfield; his sister Eva Mae Morgan; his grandchildren Blake Chappell and his wife Stephanie Chappell, Christopher Chappell and his wife Abigail Chappell, Shawn Chappell and his wife Kristen Chappell, granddaughter Brittany Wood, grandsons Dawson Coonfield and Payton Coonfield, granddaughters Katie Bordwell, Kaitlyn Coonfield, and Joshua Coonfield;and great-grandchildren Byanka Chappell, Caleigh Chappell-Wood, Iris Chappell and one more great-grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Springdale First Assembly Church with Pastor Keith Underhill officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
There is no scheduled visitation.
