Florence Ruth Norcross, November 8, 1945~June 23, 2018

Jun 26, 2018

Florence Ruth Norcross entered into rest peacefully at home on June 23, 2018. She was born November 8, 1945 in Redlands, CA to Harry and Sylvia Lois Davis (Steward).

She married Charles “Chuck” Norcross on February 1, 1964 and the family moved to Bellingham, WA in 1979. Ruth considered Chuck her gift from God.

She worked for many years in banking and was the bookkeeper at the Bellingham Food Bank. Ruth loved people and was dedicated to equal treatment for all. She loved children and taught Sunday School for many years with Chuck. Ruth loved to give of herself to help others, and taught her children to do the same. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she loved telling others of His saving grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ann Palmer and Harry “Jerry” Davis; and son, Bret Norcross.

She is survived by husband Chuck; daughters, Tara (Tim) Benson and Desiree (Brett) Mcafee; and beloved grandson, Liam.

Ruthie and Chuck retired in Fayetteville, AR in 2008 where the days were mostly sunny and people are so nice.

“She was gone in the twinkling of an eye, but Praise the Lord, she will have a new life.”

There are no services scheduled at this time.

    Hi Chuck. Sorry to hear of your loss of Ruth. Hope your retirement years in Arkansas have gone well for you and your family. I do not see any of our old department employees very often. Not sure if any are still working. With increased security you cannot access the department without approved entry. Some of the folks get together for lunch every other month. Attended once but seem to have something else going on that conflicts with the lunch. Keep up your faith and enjoy your grandchild. Gary Pitcher

    Dear Chuck & Family;

    So sorry to hear about Ruth’s passing. I hope the years have been kind to you both in Arkansas. You have been missed here in Bellingham especially your smiling face while we worked. Find peace in the knowledge that Ruth has gone to her heavenly home & awaits being rejoined with you in the future.
