Fred N. Mertin, 85, of Fayetteville, formerly of Ft. Smith, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Fayetteville.  He was born November 25, 1935 in Logan County, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Eva Mertin; first wife, Christine Mertin of Fayetteville; second wife, Ruth Mertin of Ft. Smith; a brother, Ernest Mertin; and an infant brother, William Charles of Logan County.

Fred is survived by two sons, Eddie of Deer, AR and David of Fayetteville; a “bonus” daughter, Marsha Richardson; one brother, Meinrad (Tony) Mertin of New Blaine, AR; three sisters, Clara Rowland of Oklahoma City, OK and Rita Tice and Mary Geels, both of Scranton, AR; plus several nephews and nieces.
