George Herbert Bartz, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 in Fayetteville. He was born July 13, 1945 in Fayetteville to Peter Paul Bartz, Jr and Ruth Mae Logue.
He was preceded in death by a son Scott Edward Bartz.
George retired from the University of Arkansas in Facilities Management. He was an avid Razorbacks fan. He enjoyed attending auctions and yard sales. George loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Connie Bartz of the home; a son Kyle Bartz and wife Erin of Springdale; 5 daughters, Devetta McKay and husband Mike of Marionville, MO, Sheila White and husband Wayman of Wesley, Denise McAnear of Centerton, Brandi Bowers and husband Doug of Anderson, MO, and Bridgette Bartz of Seattle, WA; 3 brothers, Robert Bartz and wife Shirley of Fayetteville, Pete Bartz of Brentwood, and Bill Bartz and wife Beverly of Fayetteville; a sister Betty Vanover of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Living Faith Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Steve Curtis officiating.
Visitation will be 10:00 until service-time at the church on Thursday.
Interment will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.

I lived across the hall from George. He was such a nice guy. We lots of visits. About people we both knew and the U of A. I worked there also. We knew some of t h e same people. He will be missed. Prayers for the family
George was a good man. I worked with him at the Elkins schools.

Sincere condolences to George’s family. We worked alongside George at the U of A Athletic Dept and he was a great guy. He will always be remembered. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow.
George was a special member of the Razorback family. He was a steadfast part of our Broyles Center staff nd I remember him coming by to sit down and visit with Coach Broyles about once a month, visits which both enjoyed. May God comfort the Bartz family.
