
On November 29, 2018, Glendene Luster Baker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 89. She was born on June 21, 1929 in Batesville, Arkansas to Sidney Asher and Helen Rohrscheib Luster.
Glendene was a loyal friend, an avid gardener and enjoyed “antiquing”. She made her family’s home the world in such countries as Turkey, Philippines, Taiwan, Occupied Japan as well as many cities in the United States; however , she always loved returning to her beloved home town of Batesville the most.
Glendene was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Lee Baker, Sergeant Major, United States Army. She is survived by two sons: Colonel Allen Sidney Baker, USA, Retired of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Colonel Thomas Maxwell Baker (Dana), USA, Retired of Belle Isle, Florida; one daughter, Carol Baker Dawson (Ken Crutchfield) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; six grandchildren: Major Sidney Baker-Roberts (Zac) of El Paso, Texas; Jeffrey Dawson (Kristie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; Christina Baker of Yorktown, Virginia; Samantha Baker-Marcum (Robert) of Christiansburg, Virginia; Shelton Baker-Elder (Rick) of Marietta, Georgia; Cooper Baker of Yorktown, Virginia; three great-grandchildren Carter and Hayden Marcum and Davis James (DJ) Dawson; her twin brother Glenn Asher Luster (Vera) of Lewisville, Texas and her beloved dog Maggie.
A private service and burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and best friend Archie.

Honorary pallbearers are Paul Strecker, Mike Low, Kenny Gerhardt, Mark Wyatt, Keith Harmon and Gordon Harmon.
A special thank you is extended to the staff at Peachtree Village of Farmington and the Willard Walker Hospice Home for the loving care they provided to Glendene.

She was such a lovely lady, and always so sweet to me. She took very good care of her Aunt Winnie Atchison, which wasn’t always easy. Bless you all, and I am happy she is at peace .
